500 grams

Chicken,
cut to curry pieces / चिकन, करी टुकड़ों में कटा हुआ

green chillies / कटी हुई हरी मिर्च

1 Teaspoon

Coriander
powder / धनिया पाउडर

½ Teaspoon

Cumin
seeds / जीरा

½ Cup

Fresh
coriander for garnish / गार्निश के लिए ताजा धनिया

Garam
masala / गरम मसाला

juice / नींबू का रस

onions, cut lengthwise / छोटे प्याज, लंबाई में कट गया

Turmeric
powder / हल्दी पाउडर

Preparation Method:
Step-01:
Clean
chicken;
Step-02:
cook chana
dal, mash, and keep aside.
Step-03:
Preheat
oil in a wide pan and then add cumin seeds to fry till it splatters. Stir in
onions and fry till golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2
minutes. Add tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric, and red chilli powder and cook
till tomatoes soften and oil oozes out.
Step-04:
Stir in
chicken, coriander powder, and salt. Cover and cook till it is done also stirring
occasionally. Add the mashed dal, garam masala and simmer for about 5 minutes
or till the chicken is blended with dal. Add water if necessary.
Step-05:
Add lime
juice and remove it from fire. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot
with rice.
Suggestions and Tips:
Adjust the quantity of spices according to your
taste, if required.

Always soak dals for half an hour before
cooking, as soaking helps dals to soften which saves on cooking time.
