Synopsis:
Nimki is a popular Bengali snack and it is prepared
in many ways. In this recipe, we have used ajwain and green chillies, the main
ingredients that give taste to the crackers. Ajwain also aids digestion.
Prep time: 15 min, Serves: 2
Ingredients:
1 cup flour (maida)
1 tsp ajwain
Salt to taste
4 green chillies
Oil for deep frying
Preparation
Method:
Step-01:
Grind green chillies to a paste.
Step-02:
Take maida in a mixing bowl. To this add ajwain,
salt, 2 tsp hot oil, green chilli paste.
Step-03:
Mix the flour with water to the consistency of
chapati dough. Close the bowl and let it rest for half an hour.
Step-04:
Meanwhile, heat oil in a Kadai. Make marble sized
balls with the dough and roll them into thin puris.
Step-05:
Prick the puri all over. With the help of a cutter,
cut this puri in the middle and fold each half in the shape of a triangle.
Repeat this for all puris.
Step-06:
Fry in hot oil over a low flame till crisp and
golden brown. Serve hot with any sauce.
